The new Valmet 931 offers the optimal combination of strength and flexibility. One important explanation behind the combination of strength and flexibility is the new boom, the CRH22, which with its powerful lifting force and sturdy construction can easily handle the new Valmet 365 harvesting head, as well as the Valmet 370.2 and 360.2 heads. The impressive power of the boom allows it to be accurately positioned even at the far end of its reach.
Another important explanation is the new engine, based on four-valve technology and delivering not only more power but also better fuel economy. Together, the mighty traction force and the refined Valmet Comfort Bogie provide almost unbelievable maneuverability and mobility, especially in steep terrain.
The Valmet 931 has a new, sturdy rear axle with integrated hose routing, which ensures great reliability, as does the use of soft-sealed couplings throughout the machine to minimize oil leaks. The soft-sealed couplings are based around two flat surfaces, one of which is fitted with an o-ring that creates a seal against the flat surface of the opposing coupling section.
The operator environment is of great importance to productivity. The Valmet 931 offers an extremely high-performance work environment. The spacious, full-circle slewing, and leveling cab is the quietest on the market with its completely new directly-powered slew transmission. The cab interior is unusually spacious and the seat happily swivels a full 180 degrees. Air quality is also of great importance to the operator environment. The cab has a large air intake and an extra pre-filter on the air conditioning, ensuring better air in the cab. Naturally, ECC is now standard. The end result of Valmet's integrated cab and boom concept is quite simply the best operator environment on the market.
The Valmet 931 also has the new version of the powerful control system, MaxiXplorer 1.4, with new features that include a function to add service reminders and greater freedom when editing crosscutting instructions. Moreover, within reason you can make any desired changes to a price list during an ongoing assignment without the need to continually create new production files. Yet another new feature of this version is full compatibility with the StanForD standard for calculating the volume of timber harvested with a multi-tree accumulator. Valmet is the first to offer such compatibility.
